The wonderfully mythological Trina Greene will be speaking at The
Woodstock School of Art, Monday, November 19th, at 7:30 pm, part of the
New
Fame Artist Lectures, the doors will open at 7pm for snacks and
conversation. There is a $5 Donation at the door.
A sculptor of great power, she will share her methods and vision
through slides and commentary. Trina is a compelling speaker with an
infectious energy and this lecture is not to be missed. Her sculpture
shows a fascinating evolution over 30 years, influenced both by Jungian
psychology and a deep interest in the Shamanic and also by a love of
folk art, and the simple volumetric forms of Renaissance artists such
as Pierro Della Francesca. She explores inner states of consciousness
both seriously and at times playfully, evoking the eternal dance of
being.
Trina works in clay, bronze, and currently is combining stoneware
with large aluminum forms. She is a graduate of Vassar College,
Poughkeepsie, NY: the Museum School, Boston, Mass. and Harvard Graduate
School. She is represented by Lumina Gallery, Taos, New Mexico. Her
work can be seen by appointment at the Fording Place Studio where she
lives and works.
Recently, she won "The People's Choice Award" at The Woodstock Artists
Association & Museum in a show titled ŒEquus¹ she was voted this award
by the public.
