Hello........
I bought an oil landscape at an auction years ago and have wondered
about the artist. I found his/her name mentioned at the Smithsonian
site, but only the name was mentioned, nothing else except they painted
landscapes around 1910-1915.
I was wondering if anyone knows some website or other databank
devoted to painters and artists from a historical / biographical
perspective.
Perhaps I'm turning over the wrong stones.....
Or maybe another good Usenet site to post queries.

Thank you....
Les

Hello Les,

Don't you think it would be more easy if you give us the name of this
painter ?

Therefore we could search for you in data bases...

Jean

Hello...
The name is L.Hulsmond, and the date is 1913 depicting a small river bank
and
forest. About 9" x14", oil on canvas.

Hello Les,

Sorry, but I have checked in the art data bases that I have indicated in
the precedent thread the name "Hulsmond", and this name is unknown...

Regards,

Jean

Thank you very much for trying.
I have no other ideas where to look. I figured the internet was a good
source to plug
into, as well as Usenet.
Do you have any other ideas, perhaps another Usenet group that I could tap
into..?

Thanks again!!

Les
