For example, if a customer wants to weasel out of a deal, all he has to do,
is to lie to Paypal, who is holding your money, and claim, that you, the
seller, are charging say for postage, and your website says postage is paid
for by the seller.
Even if you can prove right away, that that is not true, it might take weeks
for the case to get resolved, since PayPal is asking both parties to
respond.
And the buyer might not respond for a while.
Corrspondence will go back and forth, each one saying something else.
PayPal meanwhile, will immediately freeze your account, until the matter is
cleared up.
Until then, the money stays with PayPal.
As far as I know, they don't pay interest on that money.
I would like to know, at any given time, how big is the pool of money in
total that PayPal is freezing.
I don't think this is fair business practice, sounds more like strong arm
tactics to me.
Maybe their motto is: We do, because we can.
What can the PayPal customer do about it?
Just about nothing.
All he can do is whine and maybe complain in this newsgroup.
But nothing will change.
Their is no other company like eBay where one could go to, and they know it,
after all, it is all one company.
